The Liebster Award helps us smaller bloggers gain recognition and some more followers in this crazy world! The rules for the award are:

Thanks for nominating me ziara. It’s been awhile since I’ve received something like this :))
2. Post 11 random facts about yourself.
3. Answer the 11 questions that person gave to you.
1. What is your all-time favorite song?
A thousand Miles by Vanessa Carlton. This song never gets old. I just love the melody of it. I dream of playing the whole song on piano one day.
2. Favorite book.
The Fault in Our Stars by John Green. Need I say more?
3. If you have read the Divergent series, what do you think is the faction that you can fit into? If you haven’t, which do you prefer: peace, courage, selflessness, intelligence or truth? Why?
Sorry I haven’t read it yet but it’s definitely on my to-be-read pile.
4. Share the craziest dream you ever had.
Probably about the one where in I bumped into Tommy Pickles and the other rugrats at the mall hahaha
5. Who is your most-trusted friend? Describe him/her; choose only one!
My bff since high school Raya, I can tell her anything. We may not see each other as often as we did before but still I can confide anything to her.
6. An awesome ninja-spy or a famous fiction writer?
Famous Fiction Writer. That is the ultimate dream!
7. Imagine that you are courted by someone, list all the things your suitor should do to be able to receive your “yes”.
- Give me a lot of food particularly sweets
- Talk about books with me.
- Treat me to a buffet.
- Have an debate about who is the greatest fictional character of all time.
8. “Fear doesn’t shut you down, it wakes you up.” What can you say about this line? Do you agree or not?
Fear is just an obstacle in disguise. These are things we need to overcome and once we do it means we achieved something. It somehow drives us to be better in a way.
9. Who do you think is the most influential celebrity at present? Why?
To me, I would say James Franco. Not only is he smart but he is deeply passionate about the arts. I admire how he gives importance to education while still being an actor, director and writer. He makes me believe that you can do anything you set your mind to.
10. What movie/s, that will be shown this year, are you excited to watch?
The fault in our stars.
11. How are you feeling today? Rant all you want if you need to.
I’m feeling okay. It wasn’t a bad day at all :)
Discounted Treasure <3
I may not be the biggest Harry Potter fan but I admittedly enjoy reading and watching the entire series (not quite done with it though hihi). Anyway, when I passed by a branch of National Bookstore yesterday, a found a copy of ‘The Tales of Beedle the Bard' on sale and it was marked down to only 50 Pesos. Can you believe it? I actually thought I was seeing wrong. I had to do a double take and checked if all the other copies were marked the same. I couldn’t believe it especially for a hardcover book. Once that I verified that the price was correct, I immediately ran to the counter. I simply could not let a book like this go.
So Close Yet So Far: Mitch Albom Booksigning Event in Manila
Mitch Albom is indeed one of my favorite authors. His books not only inspire me about life but inspire me to write as well. Meeting him in person is a once in a lifetime chance and I made sure that I was there no matter what.
The booksigning event was at 2 PM but registration started at 10 AM. I wanted to go there as early as I could because I knew that there would be a massive amount of people but since I had class in the morning, I couldn’t. I arrived at around 1:15 PM and was astonished by the amount of people already there. I lined up for about 5 hours just to register and when I finally got there, We were given a choice. We can either wait with no guarantee of our number being called or we can leave our book and pick it up in a few days with Mitch’s signature.
I really wanted to wait so bad. I wanted to talk to him and have a picture taken but the chances of my number being called was a long shot. I was nunber 1800+ I think and they were calling number 400 or 500 at that time. I decided to leave my book instead and it was heartbreaking <////////3
I really hope that he comes back soon. Although I felt really bad afterwards, I was also happy that I felt his presence. It felt soooo surreal :) Plus I also made a few new friends while lining up. I can finally cross out meeting Mitch Albom from my bucketlist.
The past week has been crazy! I don’t even know where to begin. I’ve been so busy with school that I haven’t blogged all week long. And that says a lot since I usually post one or two entries per week. The main reason for my busyness was the South Manila Inter-Institutional Consortium Ethics Bowl. I was one of our school’s delegates and that meant I needed to undergo intensive training.
I admit that I am no Ethics and Philosophy whiz and because of that, I found training to be as gruelling as ever. I’ve been feeling sick the whole week probably from all the stress and the pressure that concerns the competition. This was my first ever inter-school competition and I had no experience whatsoever in these kinds of things.Ultimately, our team didn’t win but we were okay with that. All of us were pretty much amateurs so we didn’t raise our hopes to high.
Another reason for my stressfulness was because of all the school projects and requirements.Movie editing, video presentations etc. Although I’d like to think of my weekend as a stress-reliever or carefree day, I know that I can’t. There are a lot more projects and exams lined up for this week plus I have to make-up for everything I missed in class for the passed week. I feel so stressed just thinking about everything I need to do. All I wanna do is curl up in my bed and read a good book.
Speaking of books, I went to Mitch Albom’s book signing today at the Glorietta Activity Center. Although I waited in line for hours, I wasn’t able to have my book signed or get to meet him up close because of the tantamount of people. Will post about it more tomorrow.
Anyway, I’m really tired now and I think I should go to bed. Slumber awaits! Will write more about Mitch Albom tomorrow. Night guys!
